BLUE BAY CAYO COCO - HELP!?

Good afternoon, Me and my boyfriend are scheduled to leave to Blue Bay Cayo Coco (Cuba) on May 1st from Montreal. We read some reviews (positive) but now, somebody who came back on April 21 wrote that the resort is closing down for the summer, thus a lot of things are missing (staff, restaurants are closing, etc). I want to get second opinions from people who have been at Blue Bay, whether it be good or bad. Thank you!

3. Blue Bay Cayo Coco opened the end of December 2008. Cayo Coco is a beautiful place. If you want to be sure of what's happening there, your travel agent is responsible to inform you of this. The resort I stay at in Cayo Coco is Tryp Cayo Coco (which I love). All the resorts are within walking distance from each other up and down along the beach strip. Most of the time you need to take comments made on tripadvisor.com with a grain of salt. However, if the staff and services have lessened due to renovations, then you should really talk with your travel agent and see how they can help you. Usually though, in such cases, the other neighbour hotels will allow other patrons to come in and use their facilities and restaurants as well. So you will still enjoy your vacation. Actually, that might even be nicer as you'd get to meet other people and enjoy other hotels' amenities. Here are a couple of links with the hotel information. It has pretty much been newly built, so it does take time to build up. But I'm sure it will be fine. It's a 4* and looks like it's a nice place.
