  1. Yes it's wonderful there and the beaches are great. I stayed at a hotel called Jolly Beach Resort which was really great and it was all inclusive. Also there's a great shopping area called Heritage Quay located in the heat of the town. The people are really easy going and extremely friendly. There are some tourist attractions such as Devil's Bridge and Shirley's Heights which I went to that were really cool....you can probably ask your hotel front desk..or your taxi driver to tell you about those places. Anyway prepare yourself....you're gonna have a great trip!
  2. I lived there for five years and got married there. Its a wonderful little island, only 108 square miles, 65,000 people. All the beaches are wonderful. My favorite was Tuner's Beach in Johnson's Point (great little beach restaurant there) although Dickenson Bay is also wonderful (that's where we stayed for our honeymoon at Sandals and recently at a time share called Antigua Village). In addition to what the other writer said, Fig Tree Drive is nice as well as snorkeling in several locations. Barbuda, the other island in this two-island nation, is a low lying island and has a water bird sanctuary on one end and a pink sand beach on the other end. You would probably fly (small plane) although there is a ferry and sail boat operators who are willing to organize an overnight trip including fresh lobsters grilled on the beach (Capt. Nash at Dickenson Bay). You can get around on the island during the day fairly cheaply using the bus system. There are also car rentals (you will pay for a temp tourist driver's license) and taxis. They will be having a big World Cup Cricket match in March and they have Sailing Week in April. Check out the link to the Antigua website for the latest events. In selecting hotels, the north and east coasts are a bit remote. Better to choose something near Dickenson Bay (northwest) or on the southwest side around Jolly Harbor or even Johnson's Point unless you don't intend to leave your hotel.
  3. Unfortunately, I've not been there. But I met someone at the airport in Barbados that's from there -- she is a great person. So I get the impression people like her has to be friendly. From what I was told, it's very beautiful. Nice places, also. I have no experience, but I've EXPERIENCED HEARING this at least, haha. I think the boat to Barbuda or something is about 35.00 Caribbean funds or something like that. I can't remember, but that's the amount I remember. Here, I hope it helps: http://www.antigua-barbuda.org/ http://www.antigua-barbuda.com/ Good luck, both of you have a safe flight.
